Events for 9 February
Activities
This month we’re celebrating romance and love with Valentine’s Day and weddings crafts in the Banqueting Room.
Make your way to the Drawing Room for Mike Dodsworth’s ever-popular storytelling sessions. These drop-in sessions run at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, and 2pm—don’t miss out!
Chelmsford Museum will be joining us again in the Terrace Room bringing some archaeological objects you can get your hands on. Also learn more about Oaklands House, another historical home right here in Chelmsford where the museum is located.
In the Library, discover the fascinating history of Hylands House with our monthly exhibition. This February we’re highlighting the Weddings and Royal Visits at Hylands.
For an in-depth experience, join one of our guided tours of Hylands House at 10am or 1pm to uncover even more stories about the estate’s rich history.
Food & Craft Market
The food market is back with a mouth-watering array of street food and drinks just outside Hylands House alongside local vendors selling unique crafts and gifts.
Enjoy the Hot Box DJ set outside the house whilst you’re here!
The Stables
Our resident artists throw open their studio doors and welcome you to see into their working spaces – explore upstairs as well as downstairs!
Hot Box Live provide the tunes in The Stables courtyard. Join them for live music from 11am.
Browse items #MadeAtHylands in the Artist Shop and uncover treasures in the Friends of Hylands House second-hand bookshop.
Visit the Stables Information Point and pick up your handset to explore the Pleasure Gardens in a brand-new way! Our Hylands History & Gardens multimedia tour will be available for you to hire or scan the QR code and listen along with our new tour about the Estate and how it came to be.
Our popular café The Deli will be open at The Stables all day!
