Hylands Estate is a prestigious grade II* listed public park encompassing 574 acres of historic parkland. The beautifully renovated Neo-Classical elegant villa Hylands House can be hired for any occasion including Weddings, Celebrations, and Business Events, and is open to the public on select days. The Stables house a café, second-hand bookshop, information point, and resident artist studios. Within the park, there are formal Victorian Gardens and ancient woodlands that are accessible as well as an award-winning accessible children’s Adventure Playground. With a list of seasonal events both within the House and the Park, Hylands Estate is the perfect place to visit and explore.

Cafe Closed: 10th-14th January

The Stables cafe is closed between Monday 10th – Friday 14th January for maintenance.

The Steaming Mug Limited will be joining us just outside the Stables courtyard entrance, offering hot drinks, tasty cakes and snacks during this time.

Covid 19 Update

Following on from the government announcement on Tuesday 30th November Hylands Estate is open as usual.

We ask that anyone entering the Stables Cafe, Visitor Information Centre, Artist Studios or attending an event in Hylands House or the Grand Pavilion wear a face covering and sign into the Track and Trace App.

Car Parking Charges

Hylands parking charges began on 8 November, full details can be found here:


Under the proposals, several groups will not have to pay parking charges. These groups include; volunteers, such as the Friends of Hylands House working in the book shop, and park volunteers; Hylands Estate tenants and catering concessions; and those already paying to hire Hylands House or the park, including weddings and ticketed events.
