Group Visit Packages

Packages for group visits to Hylands Estate are back! If you are responsible for organising trips for your group to visit new destinations or explore stately homes, and are keen to learn about our local history, we have the ideal day out for you.

At £30 per person, for a minium of 30 guests and a maximum of 50 guests, our half day packages feature an exclusive tour experience and delicious refreshments.

Our new tour packages are recommended for coach groups, societies, educational institutions and other interest groups. Coach parking is available in Hylands Estate and on London Road. Tours for group bookings are available on selected dates. Contact a member of our helpful team to find out more.

Discover our history

We will have a volunteer tour guide on hand who will take your guests on a journey from 1730 up to the present day, covering our architectural and social history along with insights from our restoration which started in the 1980’s and was completed in 2007. This tour involves walking around the house and lasts approximately one hour.

Enjoy locally prepared treats

Following the tour, everyone can enjoy tasty refreshments which include delicious, sweet treats from our onsite café, The Deli, in the stunning Terrace Room which overlooks the Back Lawn with views of Chelmsford in the distance.

Supporting our Friends

Bookings includes a donation to The Friends of Hylands House, who are a charitable organisation who work hard to fundraise for project-based improvements and new initiatives, so everyone can enjoy Hylands Estate for years to come. The Friends are always welcoming new members to help support the preservation and improvement of this special history place.

Explore The Stables

Following your visit to Hylands House, you are welcome to explore the rest of the grounds, including our artist hub The Stables. Here you will find The Deli, The Friends of Hylands House second-hand bookshop, Artists Studios, and our Information Point.

Our Artist Shop located at the Information Point sells beautiful created works to take home by our resident artists, and is where you can buy a copy of our souvenir book all about the history of Hylands Estate. If the weather is nice, you can also take to opportunity to enjoy a free multimedia tour of the grounds and gardens, available to pick up from the Information Point.
