Building on the skills you’ve already gained in the one-day stained glass workshop at the Mona Marnell Glass Studio, this follow-up course is designed to help you refine your technique and tackle more intricate designs. The course is 5 weeks long, running every Monday from 3 November to 1 December, 7.00-9.00pm
In this small, focused group of just five participants, you’ll further develop your expertise in the Tiffany method—mastering advanced cutting, foiling, and soldering techniques to create detailed, beautiful stained glass pieces. This course is perfect for those looking to take their craftsmanship to the next level in a supportive, hands-on environment.
All tools and materials are provided, as on the one day workshop. Mona will provide some more intricate patterns for which glass will be provided, but if you are working on your own design you may need to provide extra glass. Mona will guide you where to get this, so contact her to discuss your design prior to the course. You may wish to make a single piece or a range of pieces, the choice is yours. Whatever you choose, Mona will guide you through out.
Please wear old clothes or bring an apron as working with glass is fun but messy.
You won’t have to pay for parking as you are attending a workshop. Just come straight to the studio on the day with your car registration and Mona will get you put on the system for free.
Please Note: Stained glass is a traditional craft. You will be handling and cutting glass as well as using glass grinders. After applying copperfoil to all your glass pieces you will use a soldering iron, liquid flux and solder to join the pieces together. Mona will provide latex gloves to prevent you touching the flux and solder. If you have any health issues which may be exacerbated by working with these materials, please contact Mona to discuss this further.
