Activities
January is International Brainteaser Month! Challenge your mind with fun activities in the Banqueting Room, where you can put your problem-solving skills to the test. In the Small Dining Room, learn to spell your name in Morse Code, and in the Terrace Room, enjoy a selection of classic board games for all ages.
Make your way to the Drawing Room for Mike Dodsworth’s ever-popular storytelling sessions. These drop-in sessions run at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, and 2pm—don’t miss out!
In the Library, discover the fascinating history of Hylands House with our monthly exhibition. This January, we’re highlighting the Gooch family, who resided here between 1905 and 1920.
For an in-depth experience, join one of our guided tours of Hylands House at 10am or 1pm to uncover even more stories about the estate’s rich history.
Food & Craft Market
Urban Food Fest is back with a mouth-watering array of street food and drinks just outside Hylands House alongside local vendors selling unique crafts and gifts.

The Stables
Our resident artists throw open their studio doors and welcome you to see into their working spaces – explore upstairs as well as downstairs!
Hot Box Live provide the tunes in The Stables courtyard. Join them for live music from 11am.
Browse items #MadeAtHylands in the Artist Shop and uncover treasures in the Friends of Hylands House second-hand bookshop.
Keep an eye out for Hawthorn Heavy Horse carriage rides that start from the front of the House! Pay on the day and take a trip around the Estate with a difference (weather and ground condition dependent).
Visit the Stables Information Point and pick up your handset to explore the Pleasure Gardens in a brand-new way! Our Hylands History & Gardens multimedia tour will be available for you to hire or scan the QR code and listen along with our new tour about the Estate and how it came to be.
