Spend a fun day learning a new skill and creating your own stained glass panel. The day runs from 10-5pm and commences with you learning how to cut glass safely. You will be working to a pre-designed pattern, known as a cartoon. Once you have chosen the coloured glass you want to use, Mona will guide you through the construction of your traditional leaded panel, cutting the lead came to size, fitting it to the glass, soldering the joints and finally cementing it.
By the end of the day you will have a thorough understanding of how leaded windows are made and will take home your own unique decorative panel.
Lunch is not provided, but The Deli café across the courtyard, offers workshop attendees a 20% discount.
Five is the maximum of people in this workshop to ensure you receive individual attention. You will have to stand for parts of the day so a certain amount of stamina is required and as a precaution, Mona advises pregnant women or nursing mothers not to attend due to the use of lead.
Parking is free as you are attending a workshop. Just bring your car registration to the studio on the day and Mona will get you put on the system for free.
